A valid licence must be obtained before the production is broadcast, distributed or exploited in any way. This can be obtained through MCPS who issue licences and invoices on our behalf.

When applying for a licence you complete one application per production no matter how many tracks you use or from what MCPS library source you obtain them.
To do this you will need the following information; track title, composer surname(s), publisher name, catalogue number and the duration of each individual music cue. It is not possible to aggregate cues except if you have made a television programme/series using lots of music (over 5 minutes). In these instances there are per programme rates allowing unlimited use of music for a fixed fee and also mini blankets available on request.
Once you have made your application you will receive a licence and subsequently an invoice from MCPS.
